Jason Giambi: 'I have no idea what I am going to do next'

The slugger doesn't have any plans after missing out on the Rockies' managerial gig.

After losing out on the Colorado Rockies' managerial opening to Walt Weiss, free-agent slugger Jason Giambi says he has "no idea" what his plans are for the 2013 season. Giambi turned down the opportunity to become Colorado's hitting coach after his failed managerial bid.

The 18-year big-league veteran has served primarily as a pinch-hitter for the Rockies since 2010, during which time he has hit .245/.370/.444 while blasting 20 home runs and working 72 walks in 487 plate appearances. Giambi was limited to just 113 plate appearances in 2012 due to a groin injury and a virus; he hit .225/.372/.303, managing just one home run but drawing 20 walks.

Giambi will turn 42 before the 2013 season, and he has not played the field regularly since he played 113 games in the field during his 2008 campaign for the New York Yankees. In his career, Giambi has hit .280/.403/.502 and smacked 429 homers.
