Michigan running back Fitzgerald Toussaint was carted off the field Saturday with a leg injury.

Michigan starting running back Fitzgerald Toussaint was carted off the field with a left leg injury in the first quarter of the Wolverines' game against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday. The injury was gruesome -- you can see a picture of it here and a GIF of it here. Be warned: you will cringe.

The redshirt junior suffered the injury on Michigan's first drive of the game on the tail end of 10-yard rush. The running back landed awkwardly on his left leg, which was facing the wrong way, and remained on the ground in serious pain. He was quickly attended to by trainers and was put on a stretcher and subsequently carted off.

Entering Saturday's action, Toussaint had carried the ball 127 times for 483 yards and five touchdowns.

The story of the game was to be Denard Robinson's last game in Ann Arbor. Robinson entered the game early as a running back, but now all concern rests with Toussaint.
