Sanchez starts for Jets, but Tebow enters game early

Steven Bisig-US PRESSWIRE

It didn't take long for the New York Jets to give Tim Tebow playing time today against the Rams.

One of the biggest storylines this week is, of course, the New York Jets quarterback situation. Starter Mark Sanchez is under fire, and backup Tim Tebow is ready and willing.

In today's contest against the Rams, Sanchez started, but Tebow was inserted on the very first drive. He took a snap from shotgun and kept it on a QB keeper to the left side for a 1-yard gain.

With so much of the media's attention being focused on Tebow this season, we might actually be close to seeing the Jets take the plunge and actually name him the starter. Joe Namath has been outspoken -- basically calling the Jets organization out for only bringing Tebow to New York for the publicity, and the fans seem to be supportive of seeing a switch made.

It's unfortunate for Tebow to constantly be asked to play the savior role, but it doesn't look like things are getting any better in New York.

Stay tuned...
