Andrew Luck loses wideout to a concussion today versus the Patriots.
The Colts will have to depend on wide receiver Reggie Wayne even more than usual for the remainder of their game against the Patriots, as Donnie Avery sustained a concussion in the first half and will not return.
Avery is No. 2 statistically for the Colts in receiving this season, having caught 38 passes for 519 yards. He has only caught one touchdown pass this year.
The Indy wide receiver was already battling a hip injury sustained in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins, which would turn out to be his best game of the 2012 season (five catches for 108 yards).
The Colts are currently down 17-31 versus the Patriots, with just under eight minutes left in the third quarter. Andrew Luck has tossed one touchdown and one interception, and Tom Brady has thrown two touchdowns.
Time to see if the rookie quarterback can lead his team back to another come-from-behind win, but this time, without one of his starting wide receivers.
Stay tuned ...
