The Dallas Cowboys are favorites by just a field goal, welcoming the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving in a crucial NFC East matchup.
The Dallas Cowboys welcome the Washington Redskins on Thursday for an NFC East Thanksgiving matchup at Cowboys Stadium, in a crucial, must-win game for both teams.
The Cowboys beat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in overtime, 23-20, to move to 5-5 on the season with two straight wins over struggling teams. With a win against the Redskins, and a Giants loss on Sunday, the Cowboys will move into first place in the NFC East and control their playoff destiny. A loss would make getting to the postseason significantly tougher.
The Redskins, currently 4-6 after a blowout win over the Eagles, sit in nearly the same situation as the Cowboys.
Dallas and Washington present interesting matchups for the game, with the Redskins allowing 289 yards a game through the air and now facing one of the top passing attacks in the NFL. Despite possessing the No. 7 passing game, the Cowboys are averaging just 21.1 points a game as the offense has struggled with a ground game and consistency overall.
The Cowboys are just three-point favorites over the Redskins, with the line currently sitting at 48 points overall. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving Day, with coverage on Fox.
