The Kent State Golden Flashes won their 11th game of the season Friday.
The Kent State Golden Flashes picked up their school-record 11th victory of the season Friday, a 28-6 win over the Ohio Bobcats at Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio.
Trayion Durham picked up 97 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries to lead the No. 23 Golden Flashes (11-1, 8-0 MAC). Spencer Keith was 9-of-20 for 170 yards, one touchdown and an interception, and Eric Adeyemi caught three passes for 74 yards and a score, as Kent State wrapped up a perfect regular season in MAC play.
Beau Blankenship ran 29 times for 145 yards, but he lost a fumble for Ohio (8-4, 4-4). Tyler Tettleton completed 21-of-37 passes for 232 yards and an interception, and Donte Foster had 11 receptions for 100 yards. After a 7-0 start, the Bobcats have lost four of five.
The Golden Flashes' defense has been on of the best in the MAC this season, ranking third in points allowed per game (25.1). Kent State held Ohio to 339 yards and forced two turnovers, including an interception returned for a touchdown by C.J. Malauulu.
Box Score Hero: Blankenship's 145 rushing yards were impressive, and it was the fourth time this season that he's hit or surpassed that number. Blankenship averaged 5.0 yards per carry, but with one turnover and without a touchdown, those yards gained were somewhat tarnished.
Rankings Ramifications: Kent State entered the game ranked No. 23 in the BCS, and it remains to be seen whether or not the Golden Flashes will move up.
But Did They Cover? Kent State was a 9½-point favorite, and the Golden Flashes easily covered that spread. For more college football lines, check out SB Nation's odds hub.
Next Week's Schedule: Kent State will host Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship Game Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. ET. Ohio State's regular season is over, and the Bobcats are waiting on a possible bowl bid.
