Robbie Kruse and Stefan Reisinger scored in each half to give Fortuna Düsseldorf a huge win over Hamburg.
Fortuna Düsseldorf took all three points at home for the first time this season in a 2-0 victory over Hamburg on Friday afternoon. A bigger issue may arise for Hamburg, as Rafael Van der Vaart left the pitch in the first half with a hamstring injury.
The visitors set out in a more defensive shape, and went even more defensive when Van der Vaart had to leave due to the injury. Still, Hamburg thought they struck first, but Michael Mancienne's goal was ruled back for offside.
Robbie Kruse put Düsseldorf ahead with goal just before halftime. His shot deflected off of Mancienne before tucking inside the near post before Rene Adler could get to it.
The second half saw another Hamburg goal disallowed. Heiko Westermann scored an excellent free kick, but it was called back due to a foul in the wall. Stefan Reisinger put the match away just after the hour mark after dribbling into the penalty area and putting his shot into the top corner.
The win lifts Düsseldorf out of the relegation zone into 13th place on 14 points. Hamburg remain in 9th place, but could fall down the table depending on the weekend's results.
