Buckeyes' defensive end John Simon is out for Ohio State's rivalry game against Michigan.

It turns out Buckeyes senior defensive end and co-captain John Simon won't get to follow-up immediately on his four-sack performance in a 21-14 (OT) win over Wisconsin last week.

Simon has a synovial bursa sac injury, something that's been hidden for much of the Buckeyes' huge rivalry week, leading into its game against Michigan.

It was reported earlier Simon was a game-time decision Saturday, and he did not warm up with the Buckeyes as they prepared to take on their arch rivals:

Simon has 17 career sacks and 42 tackles for loss, and was a third-team All American selection in 2011.

OddsShark.com shows Ohio State as four-point favorites heading into the game, looking to run its undefeated streak this year to 12 games. The Wolverines broke a seven-year losing streak last season, defeating the Buckeyes 40-34.
