Luck was 30-of-48 for 433 yards and two touchdowns in a masterful game for the rookie, who set a rookie record for passing yards in a game. Luck now has 1,971 yards, eight touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season and as expected, has been inconsistent at times his rookie year.
Josh Wilson of Stampede Blue has seen a lot of great quarterback performances for the Colts over the years, and feels that Luck's game on Sunday is one of the best he's seen yet.
People will rave about Luck's performance. I will, too. And he deserves everything that is said about him. But I really don't have any words left to describe how good this guy is. I mean, he plays like a ten year veteran, not a rookie. Through eight games of his rookie season, he has already tied the record for most 300+ yard passing games in a rookie season ever (Peyton Manning, 1998). And he's played half of a season. The best is still yet to come.
This is coming from a guy who lived and died by every game one of the greatest players in history played. I dissected Peyton Manning's games quite a bit. I watch a lot of NFL football every weekend. And this game by Andrew Luck today was one of the best quarterbacking performances I have seen. Don't let the rushing stats deceive you, the Colts really couldn't run it much of the game. There were multiple drops, including a great throw that would have been a touchdown to T.Y. Hilton.
The Colts have won three straight games, however, with all three decided by one score or less and including a 19-13 win overtime over the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 28.
