The Houston Dynamo hold a two-goal advantage over Sporting Kansas City as the two teams meet in the second leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday night.
The Houston Dynamo have top-seeded Sporting Kansas City on the ropes heading into the second and final leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Wednesday night.
With a 2-0 win in the first leg on Sunday, fifth-seeded Houston has a two-goal advantage heading into Kansas City. Adam Moffat and Will Bruin in the 18th and 75th minute, respectively, accounted for the Dynamo scoring in the victory. The task of putting away Sporting will be anything but easy though, as Kansas City is 4-0-2 at Livestrong Park since July 28.
Still, the Dynamo have been in this situation before, having won four consecutive semifinal contests and reaching the MLS Cup last year after topping Sporting 2-0 in a one-game conference final.
Overall this season, Houston has had success against Kansas City, posting a 2-0-2 record and accounting for two of Sporting's seven losses.
The match will begin at 9 p.m. and will be televised on Fox Sports Houston and KSMO-TV in Kansas City. The winner will face either the New York Red Bulls or D.C. United in the conference finals.
