2012 NCAA Hockey schedule: No.1 Boston College faces a tough No. 7 Notre Dame squad

Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

Boston College and Notre Dame get their hockey-football weekend started with both teams meeting on the ice Friday evening.

The No.1 ranked Boston College Eagles will play host to No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish this Friday for a marquee showdown in the Conte Forum at 7 p.m. ET.

Notre Dame is currently in the midst of an unfortunate 11 consecutive game streak against nationally-ranked opponents but B.C. will surely provide the greatest challenge of all.

The defending national champion Eagles still have Johnny Gaudreau performing at a high level as he leads the team with nine points in seven games. The Irish are on a bit of a hot streak though winning four of their last five so fans are sure to be treated to good one Friday evening during the teams' hockey-football weekend.

Boston College has won six consecutive games after dropping their opening against Northeastern. The Eagles have also won 25 of their last 26 games dating back to last winter but they did lose to Notre Dame 3-2 in overtime in November of 2011.
