The missed alley-oop is fun, but the fan reaction is better.
Let's take a trip down memory lane for a moment. Remember this?
Of course you do. This is our reminder. Jeremy Shockey will serve as a permanent warning about premature celebrations. Waiting until a celebration-worthy play is actually completed in full is important, else you have to try and brush off celebrating too early (or just go all out with the WHAT? as Shockey did).
Back to the present. This right here is a failed alley-oop. The alley isn't bad -- though a little too far away from the hoop. The oop ... well, Derrick Williams didn't get the oop part.
I want you to look at the fan in the collared shirt. This man Shockey'd. This man's face is absolutely wonderful. The arms raised in celebration, the elation, then ... the 'O' face.
You know what? Maybe don't pay attention to Shockey's cautionary tale. We need more premature celebrations, if only for the GIFs.
