Giants Vs. Falcons: Asante Samuel intercepts Eli Manning.... again

US PRESSWIRE

The Falcons have taken an early 7-0 lead over the Giants at home thanks to Asante Samuel's fourth career interception against Eli Manning.

Asante Samuel may not be the best cornerback in the NFL, or even close to it, but when he plays against Eli Manning, he's pretty good. Early in the Atlanta Falcons home game against the New York Giants, Eli Manning dropped back to pass from their own 16-yard line and threw a pass to wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. Nicks didn't catch the pass, though, as it was picked off by Samuel at the 22-yard line.

Over the next few plays, the Falcons found the end zone thanks to some tough running by Michael Turner and the Giants found themselves in an early hole to a team that's hard to beat on their home field.

This was the fourth career interception for Samuel on Manning and his second interception of the season. The Falcons acquired Samuel from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a seventh-round pick. Since Manning is familiar with Samuel from their days together in the NFC East, maybe he'll think twice about throwing the ball his way for the rest of the game.
