The senior offensive lineman and junior defensive lineman Axel McQuaw will not be allowed to travel with the team to Glendale due to academic ineligibility.
The Oregon Ducks released a statement announcing that senior offensive lineman Nick Cody and junior defensive lineman Axel McQuaw will not be allowed to travel with the team to the Fiesta Bowl due to poor academics (via OregonLive.com).
Cody, a four-year letterwinner, has started 18 games over his four-year career for Oregon including the first six games of the 2012 season and has appeared in every game this season. Midway through the season, the Brush Prarie, Wash. native was replaced in the starting lineup by Ryan Clanton. He has seen time at both right guard and tackle over the course of his career.
McQuaw is a walk-on that has been with the Ducks the last three seasons. He has not played a down in 2012 after appearing in three games in 2011 as a reserve.
The Ducks will play Kansas State in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl which is scheduled for January 3 in Glendale, Ariz.
