Things got chippy between the Nets and Celtics again. This time, Gerald Wallace and Kevin Garnett exchanged words after Wallace grabbed Garnett's shorts.
You knew it wouldn't be a Celtics-Nets game without things getting a little chippy. When these two teams last met, Rajon Rondo spurred a benches-clearing skirmish when he shoved Kris Humphries following a hard foul on Kevin Garnett. The Christmas Day rematch had been uneventful until the fourth quarter, when Garnett and Gerald Wallace got into it briefly.
Here's what ended up happening.
Wallace grabbed Garnett's shorts to prevent him from falling down and held on longer than Garnett would have liked. The two then got face-to-face until they were separated. My guess is that Garnett wanted nothing to do with the fight once he saw it was Wallace staring him down.
The two men both received technical fouls for the exchange. It's not much, but in today's NBA, that counts as an altercation. I can't wait to see what happens when someone other than Wallace tries to grab Garnett's shorts.
