Kobe Bryant is off to a fast start, and the Lakers lead by two after one quarter.
Kobe Bryant appears to be locked in during the 15th Christmas Day game of his career. Bryant has 13 points on 6-10 shooting, and the Lakers have taken a 25-23 lead over the New York Knicks at the end of the first quarter.
Bryant looked very spry early. He got an early dunk, then cut backdoor for this beautiful reverse layup that probably didn't need to be this difficult. He also tipped in a missed shot by Pau Gasol and got a three-point play at the very end of the quarter. Here's the reverse layup:
Six different players scored for the Knicks, led by six points from Kurt Thomas. Carmelo Anthony is off to a slow start, having scored just five points on 2-7 shooting. He hit his first two shots with Darius Morris guarding him, then missed his next five.
Pau Gasol also got off to a nice start, scoring five points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out three assists.
