The New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-0 on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots did not rest starters with a playoff spot wrapped up because it was still possible for them to improve their seeding with a victory. The Patriots secured up the No. 2 seed in the AFC with the win but were denied home-field advantage throughout the playoffs due to the Broncos' victory over the Chiefs.

The Patriots dominated this game from start to finish. New England stacked up 443 total yards to Miami's 256 yards in their first shutout since 2009. The Patriots scored touchdowns in the first, second and fourth quarters. Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski each caught one touchdown from Tom Brady and Stevan Ridley rushed for two scores.
