St. Louis can't prevent the Seahawks from going perfect at home.
The St. Louis Rams only had pride to play for, while the Seattle Seahawks had a possible first round bye as incentive on Sunday. For most of the game in Seattle, pride was enough, as the Rams held the lead until Russell Wilson's late touchdown run gave Seattle the 20-13 win.
Wilson scored from a yard out with 1:39 left to break a 13-13 tie and give Seattle the victory. While San Francisco's win over Arizona prevented Seattle from winning the NFC West, Wilson's touchdown prevented a 252-yard passing day from Sam Bradford from ending in victory.
Like many games this season, it was a close one that wasn't quite enough:
The Rams defense held an explosive team to 20 points, sacking Russell Wilson 6 times, and they made life hard for him the majority of the game. Until Wilson decided to strike back, he started buying time in the backfield and making things happen, and even made key first downs running the ball himself.
The Rams lost three games by a touchdown or less, plus they had their tie at San Francisco. That is what was the difference in a playoff season for the Rams and another one at home for the winter. Still, the Rams can be pleased with a vast improvement over last year's 2-14 season.
