Week 14 NFL odds: Dolphins vs. 49ers

The 49ers are coming off their second disappointing result against the Rams in three weeks after dropping an overtime game in St. Louis. Despite their struggles with the Blue-and-Gold, San Francisco hosts the Miami Dolphins as 11.5-point favorites on Sunday. The Dolhpins visit the 'Stick after losing 23-16 to New England.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has brought a new dimension to the 49ers offense. His ability to attack downfield and score first downs with his legs on broken plays has opened up the playbook for head coach Jim Harbaugh. Frank Gore's consistency in the backfield and the best defense in the NFL complement the young quarterback's game. Since Kaep took the helm, the 49ers have covered spreads against the Bears and Saints, while falling outright to the underdog Rams.

Losing four of their last five games, Miami has struggled behind rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Texas A&M product has thrown six interceptions and two touchdowns in his last four starts, with the lone bright spot in that stretch coming on a game-winning drive against Seattle. The Dolphins have been double-digit underdogs just once this season, failing to cover the 13 points they were getting against Houston in Week 1. Miami pushed in its most recent game, losing to the Patriots by a touchdown.
