Marion strains groin, Kaman sprains ankle, and P.J. Tucker sprains MCL during the second half of Mavs vs. Suns.
Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion strained his right groin, and Chris Kaman sprained his right ankle during the second half of the team's game against the Phoenix Suns. According to ESPN Radio Dallas' Mike Peasly, Marion is doubtful to return. Kaman will not return.
It's not completely clear when the injury occurred, but Marion made a lay up on a fast break and came out of the a couple of minutes later. It's unclear if the injury occurred on that play or earlier in the quarter. At the time, the Mavs were leading, 59-48, after trailing, 44-40, at the start of the quarter. Marion left the game with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Mavs are still playing without forward Dirk Nowitzki, who is recovering from knee surgery at the beginning of the season. Nowitzki is traveling with the team on their current road trip.
The Suns were not immune to injury. Forward P.J. Tucker also left the game with a sprained MCL. The announce crew reported that Tucker will not return.
