Round-by-round results from Manny Pacquiao against Juan Manuel Marquez. This post covers the action from round 1.
With eight years of history and thirty-six rounds already fought, Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez stepped into the ring to face off one last time live on HBO pay-per-view.
Pacquiao came out fast throwing jabs while Marquez moved around, trying to time a punch. Both men got in straight power punches in the first thirty seconds of the fight as things got off to a fast paced start.
Marquez found a nice body shot in the middle of a counter punch flurry but Pacquiao came back with a hard shot the the face with his left hand.
The round, on the whole, was close to even with single Pacquiao left hands and Marquez with the occasional body shot or flurry.
