"The Star-Spangled Banner" is a notoriously difficult song to sing, and no performance of it is scrutinized more intensely than the unlucky soul who pulls Super Bowl duty. In that regard, Kelly Clarkson did a fantastic job on Sunday: she was pitch-perfect throughout without over-singing it, two things we don't necessarily get from, say, Christina Aguilera.
But we must scrutinize anyway, because we are animals and can be no other way. Fish must swim; birds will fly; haters gotta hate. Should a thicker woman like Kelly Clarkson have bangs? No, they're not flattering. Was that children's choir as cute as P.S. 22's? It was not. It did, however, launch a new star. Watch and find her:
Did you see her? Tell me you saw her.
ENHANCE:
She's my new favorite person in the world. Do not make fun of her, or I will fight you.
