To think that the only thing keeping the Pittsburgh Penguins out of the top seed in the Eastern Conference is the New York Rangers.
The Penguins won their ninth straight game Sunday in a 5-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.
Evgeni Malkin, James Neal and Chris Kunitz combined for seven points as the Penguins rolled once again, having not lost since February 19. This is Pittsburgh's second winning streak of eight or more games this season; the eight-game win streak in January started the 21 wins in 25 games stretch that the Penguins are on right now.
Even with the recent string of success, the Penguins are still in fourth place in the East, four points behind the Rangers. The two teams meet Thursday at Madison Square Garden. Not only that, but Sidney Crosby could return Thursday as well.
The Atlantic Division just got a little bit more exciting.
