The Anaheim Ducks may be cooked, but that does not mean that they cannot hinder other teams.
Teemu Selanne's tip-in goal late in the third period propelled the Ducks to a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks Wednesday, leaving four teams within two points of the Pacific Division lead.
Anaheim was officially eliminated from playoff contention Wednesday after a spirited run with new coach Bruce Boudreau, but with a few games left, they still plan to wreak havoc. Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry also scored for the Ducks, but it was Selanne's 662nd career goal kept San Jose just one point ahead of ninth-place Phoenix in the Western Conference. If the Sharks miss the playoffs, then they will definitely have the Ducks to blame; they went 1-5-0 against them this season.
San Jose will travel to Glendale Thursday to meet Phoenix in a game with huge playoff implications. A loss by the Sharks would put them on the outside looking in with four games left.
