CAMolinaFTW's Three Round Mock Draft

This is my first mock draft I have posted on MtD. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Tell me what you think. I do have trades in my mock draft, I did not use any draft value chart as I use future picks, because no Draft Pick Value Chart has future picks. Tell me what you think of the format (tell me if it is too hard to read. I'll try to make it better next time so bear with me please).

I forgot about the Demeco Ryans trade, and have now fixed the mock draft with the trade.

FIRST ROUND

Reasoning for pick and trades

1 -

Indianapolis Colts

Andrew Luck

QB

Stanford

Easy one here. Peyton era ends, the Luck era starts.

2 -

Washington Redskins

Robert Griffin III

QB

Baylor

Washington breaks the bank for the second best QB in the draft.

3 -

Minnesota Vikings

Matt Kalil

OT

USC

Vikings get a guy who might be the top pick in some drafts.

4 -

Jacksonville Jaguars

Justin Blackmon

WR

OKST

TRADE: JAX 1st, 2nd, & 2013 2nd for CLE 1st - Jags move up for Blackmon

5 -

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Morris Claiborne

CB

LSU

Claiborne is probably the best defensive player in the draft, Bucs get him to help their poor pass D

6 -

Saint Louis Rams

Riley Reiff

OT

Iowa

Gotta keep Bradford up, Reiff can do just that.

7 -

Cleveland Browns

Trent Richardson

RB

Alabama

TRADE: JAX 1st, 2nd, & 2013 2nd for CLE 1st - Browns trade down, take who they would of at four, and get two more second round picks.

8 -

Miami Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill

QB

Texas A&M

Mike Sherman compared Tannehill to Andy Dalton with a better arm, Mike Sherman was the HC at Texas A&M, now he is the Phins OC now.

9 -

Carolina Panthers

Quinton Coples

DE

UNC

Coplesis a perfect fit for the Panthers, if he reaches his upside we get a elite pass rusher and a top notch run-stopper, when we need both.

10 -

Buffalo Bills

Jonathan Martin

OT

Stanford

Buffalo is hoping that Fitzy has a good year with nice LT blocking for him. Would of went with Ingram here, but I feel he is a much better OLB than DE

11 -

Kansas City Chiefs

David DeCastro

OG

Stanford

Fill one of their biggest needs. DeCastro will start right away to block for Charles and Hillis (and maybe their new QB?)

12 -

Seattle Seahawks

Luke Kuechly

MLB

Boston College

Seattle takes the best LB in the draft, hoping to make their run defense top notch

13 -

Arizona Cardinals

Melvin Ingram

OLB

South Carolina

They need two things: Pass rush and OL. They get one when the other is gone.

14 -

Tennessee Titans

Fletcher Cox

DT

Mississippi State

TRADE: DAL 1st for TEN 1st & 2nd - Titans move up for the best DT in the draft

15 -

Cleveland Browns

Michael Floyd

WR

Notre Dame

TRADE: CLE 1st (via ATL) & 2nd (via MIA) for PHI 1st & 4th - Browns trade again, and grab WR that will hopefully fix their awful WR corp

16 -

New York Jets

Courtny Upshaw

OLB

Alabama

Rex Ryan gets one of the best pass rushing OLBs in the draft. A position of need and BPA (IMO)

17 -

Cincinnati Bengals

Cordy Glenn

OG

Georgia

Cincy needs two guards, they get the second best guard in the draft.

18 -

San Diego Chargers

Nick Perry

OLB

USC

Pass rush was not a bright spot for the Bolts last year, hopefully USC's very own Nick Perry can fix that.

19 -

Chicago Bears

Kendall Wright

WR

Baylor

The Bears need two different WRs, a tall one and a deep threat. Marshall is the tall WR and Wright is the deep threat. Bears offense will be scary if they get a good OL-men

20 -

Dallas Cowboys

Peter Konz

C

Wisconsin

TRADE: DAL 1st for TEN 1st & 2nd - Dallas trades down and takes the best center in the draft

21 -

Cincinnati Bengals

Janoris Jenkins

CB

Florida

Jenkins, from a talent standpoint, is a top ten pick. But he has so many off-the-field issues it should keep him out of the top fifteen. Bengals need a CB and Jenkins is there guy.

22 -

Philadelphia Eagles

Alshon Jeffrey

WR

South Carolina

TRADE: CLE 1st (via ATL) & 2nd (via MIA) for PHI 1st & 4th - Eagles trade down so they can get a good end-zone threat and jump up from their 4th to Miami's 2nd. Jeffery is expected to be a first rounder after his pro-day

23 -

Detroit Lions

Stehpon Gilmore

CB

South Carolina

Jeffery wasn't the only Gamecock at South Carolina's pro-day, Gilmore looked really good at the pro-day and, according to Mick Mayock, became the second best CB in the draft. Passed on Kirkpatrick because I feel he is slightly overrated.

24 -

Pittsburgh Steelers

Dont'a Hightower

ILB

Alabama

Steelers get Hightower who should start right away at ILB. Great for both sides because Highotwer played ILB in Alabama's 3-4 defense

25 -

Denver Broncos

Michael Brockers

DT

LSU

Most will view Brockers falling here as a steal. DT is a big need for Denver so this shouldn't require much thought.

26 -

Houston Texans

Shephen Hill

WR

Georgia Tech

Houston makes sure you don't only focus on Foster and AJ, now they bring in a good tall deep threat.

27 -

New England Patriots

Whitney Mercilus

DE

Illinois

Patriots need pass rush, badly. 20 of their sacks came from two DEs that are over the age of 30, and both are FAs (one left for elsewhere other is still un-signed).

28 -

Green Bay Packers

Dre Kirkpatrick

CB

Alabama

Packers take the BPA and fill a need at CB

29 -

Baltimore Ravens

Mark Barron

SS

Alabama

Baltimore gets youth on the defense and their future star saftey

30 -

San Francisco 49ers

Rueben Randle

WR

LSU

49ers signed Mario Manningham and Randy Moss, yet they still need another WR. Moss will be the 4th stringer.

31 -

Indianapolis Colts

Coby Fleener

TE

Stanford

TRADE: IND 2nd & 2013 3rd for NEP 1st - Colts trade up to keep the Luck-to-Fleener connection going.

32 -

New York Giants

Devon Still

DT

Penn State

Giants love taking defensive line, not many would expect Still to fall this far, but the Giants take him and are very happy.

SECOND ROUND

TRADES
