Hansen will take on a dozen other horses in the 2012 Blue Grass Stakes.
The 2012 Blue Grass Stakes will take place half a state away from Churchill Downs in Lexington on Saturday, and one of the 2012 Kentucky Derby favorites will be running. Hansen, the 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner, will be looking to continue the form he showed in winning the 2012 Gotham Stakes.
The rare gray three-year old will be starting from the No. 4 post position and will be fairly close to a couple of his rivals. Prospective, which won the 2012 Tampa Bay Derby, is in No. 3 while Dullahan, second in the 2012 Palm Beach Stakes to Howe Great (also entered) has the No. 6 slot.
Hansen is currently listed as the heavy 6-5 favorite in the 13-horse field, and should remain the overwhelming selection of bettors until post time. Dullahan and Howe Great, which has the No. 10 post position, have 6-1 odds, while Prospective's are even longer, at 10-0.
