Two Western Kentucky football players were shot at an establishment near WKU's campus on Saturday night. Sophomore Tevin Holliman and freshman Ricardo Singh sustained single gunshot wounds around midnight. Both players received hospital care for the wounds, which were not life-threatening.

The University released a statement, which indicated that both players are recovering from the injuries and that WKU Coach Willie Taggart has spoken with their parents. Via WKUSports.com:

WKU football student-athletes Tevin Holliman and Ricardo Singh each sustained a single gunshot wound last night outside the Lava Lounge, located off campus in Bowling Green. Neither Holliman or Singh were in possession of a gun. Both are receiving hospital care, and neither has sustained life-threatening injuries. Head Coach Willie Taggart has spoken with the parents of each player. WKU is in the process of gathering more information.

Both Singh and Holliman had played in WKU's spring game earlier in the day in Bowling Green. The police have gathered witness accounts but have not determined a suspect yet.
