The rich get richer. The Pittsburgh Steelers take advantage of a wild first round and pick up a blue chip guard that will start right away by drafting Stanford's David DeCastro with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
DeCastro is one of the elite players in this draft class, but positional value causes him to slide down the board in this draft. The Steelers can't complain, because they have a massive need for interior offensive linemen. DeCastro will start from day one and become a big part of this offense.
The NFL Draft is often difficult to predict, but teams certain teams always seem to get excellent value out of their choices, and Pittsburgh is one of those teams. The Steelers need to continue to improve in the trenches, but this is an outstanding start.
