The Phoenix Coyotes and Nashville Predators wrap up the weekend of playoff hockey on Sunday night with Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals matchup. The Coyotes took a 1-0 series lead at home on Friday night with a 4-3 overtime win. Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith made 39 saves to keep the Coyotes ahead for much of the game, but a late Nashville goal forced overtime. The ageless Ray Whitney would end it, however, with his game-winner 14 minutes into OT.
Game 1 was relatively high-scoring, considering the superstar goalie matchup between Smith and Vezina Finalist Pekka Rinne. The Preds will look to their goaltender again in Game 2, hoping to break through on the other end against Smith and even the series up at 1-1 before heading back to Nashville.
