I once again come to my favorite NFL Draft site on the Internet for some of that good ol' fashioned "wisdom of the masses"! Before I even try to take a stab at mocking this April's draft, I was hoping to enlist those of you kind enough to respond in the comments below for help. What I'm looking for this time is simple enough: clearly label (1) your favorite team (2) whether they are most likely to move up, trade down or stand pat in the first round (reasons why - like history - would be welcome), and (3) what positions they might credibly address in said first round. A sample ideal response would look as follows:
Subject: Denver Broncos
Message: The Broncos have been very active in the NFL Draft trade market in recent years, but I doubt that continues in 2012. The Peyton Manning signing clearly signals that the Broncos are in a win-now mentality, so trading down is highly unlikely. That said, a nearly universal lack of depth throughout almost the entire roster (as well as several voids in the projected starting line-up) would seem to necessitate many picks, so trading up for a premium pick is also likely out of the question.
I think the Broncos greatest need is clearly DT, but I could also easily see them targeting RB in the first round. Other possibilities include WR, IOL (interior linemen), and LB (first OLB, then MLB). Current management sticks to their draft board, opts for value over need but prefers value at positions of need.
That's a bit long-winded (as I am prone to being) but you get the point. Even something as brief as "Eagles - Stand Pat - MLB" would be plenty helpful. If you see someone else submit a comment for your team, please respond to that comment with any agreements or disagreements you might have. The more, the merrier: right?!
Anyway - and as always - thanks in advance for your time, attention, and especially any insight you can provide. I look forward to discussing the draft with you all below and I hope that my eventual mock draft is worthy of it all! Cheers!
