When you think about the NFL Draft, you want to try to figure out how many players from the NFL Draft are from small schoolers, especially when preparing your 2013 NFL Mock Draft. Since I follow small school prospects, I figured I would break down how many players have been taken over the past 5 years, and highlight some of the bigger names that were drafted over the past 5 years. There have been some pretty good football players who came from small schools. So let's go over the past five years from 2008-2012 and find out which players really have been stand-outs. Make sure you check out the breakdowns and comment on these breakdowns.
This year there were a total of 22 small schoolers taken in this draft, but even though there aren't many coming out of small schools, it seems there is always a few that come in and do a great job. Guys like Joe Flacco, and Dominique Rodgers Cromartie are just a few that have made an impact in the NFL. In 2013, there could be a couple more impact players, and remember this 2012 NFL Draft class as well. Guys like Gino Gradkowski, Janoris Jenkins, Brian Quick and Josh Norman are just a few that might shine right away on their teams. Here is a breakdown of the past five years from 2008-2012 and how they broke down. Grey means they are the leader for that year and Blue means that they were tied with another year.
