Bennett's commitment is a major pickup for UNLV head coach Dave Rice. Bennett is ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the 2012 class by both ESPN and Rivals.com. Scout.com ranked Bennett as the No. 8 overall player. He will be the fifth member of UNLV's 2012 recruiting class.
During his recruitment, Bennett considered a number of schools, but did not take an official visit. In addition to UNLV and Oregon, Bennett also considered Florida, Kentucky and Washington. Bennett narrowed his choices to Oregon and UNLV last week.
