Tuesday night, Tim McClelland umpired his 4,000th MLB game.
↵Somehow, he still managed to (initially) call Jeff Francoeur out on this bizarre play (which includes a lovely bit of work from the brilliant Austin Jackson).
↵McClelland's crew did eventually get the call right. Sort of. But both managers argued, adding five or six minutes to the proceedings. Afterward, McClelland said, "You would think a guy with 4,000 games would have enough experience not to do that."
