This Week In GIFs Results: A Legendary Hockey GIF Emerges

The third edition of THIS WEEK IN GIFs has reached its conclusion, and for the second week in a row, we have a runaway winner. MITCH KUPCHAK (211 votes) and TONY CAMPANA'S FLYING SLIDE (204 votes) mounted valiant efforts, but such efforts proved futile against ...



A trend has emerged: compared to other major sports, there actually are not all that many notable hockey GIFs. But when they're good, they're really good. This GIF captured 36 percent of the nine-candidate ballot, finishing with 393 votes overall.

A This Week In GIFs victory, mind you, is no small matter. The winner will go on to claim an automatic bid in an upcoming GIF tournament. The date, scope, and format of said tournament has yet to be determined, but we will also offer at-large bids to terrific GIFs that weren't able to win their respective weeks.
