Kentucky Derby 2012: Dullahan Behind-The-Scenes Documentary

The 2012 Kentucky Derby takes place on Saturday, and the world will be watching to see whether any of the contenders can capture our hearts and imagination in the first leg of the Triple Crown.

In this gorgeous portrait from SB Nation Studios, we get an in-depth look at Dullahan, one of the contenders in this year's race, who has an extensive pedigree that includes half-brother Mine That Bird, who won the Derby in 2009. The video is well worth your time. Check it out after the jump.

This compelling story does a magnificent job capturing the imagery that makes the Kentucky Derby so fascinating for so many. It's anyone's guess who will end up taking first place when the dust settles, but after watching this video, you likely will be rooting for Dullahan along with the rest of us.

Dullahan will be in the No. 5 post position and may just wind up with his name in the record books.
