Hawk Harrelson decided he was going to be a poet today, because he's Hawk Harrelson and might be a little out of his mind. Except this wasn't any ordinary, tame rhyme. He went straight to the gutter and then some.
The situation: Bases loaded, two out, 2-2 count and Ichiro at the plate as the Mariners faced the White Sox. So, naturally, Harrelson sought to make a quick joke by way of a rhyme -- either innocent or not.
The Mariners are, technically, seamen -- men who navigate the sea. The bases were loaded -- or the sacks were packed. Thus, "And the count is even. Sacks packed with seamen." A great moment in #Phrasing.
And there's yet another moment to add to Hawk Harrelson's highlight reel. To his credit, though, this was probably funnier than an angry rant or a catchphrase he utters over and over and over again.
