Here's the thing about animated GIFs: they're capable of such greatness that we often see one GIF that far outclasses the rest of the pack. That's certainly what we've seen the last two weeks, in which the hockey GIF and Thunder Dan Majerle routed the competition.
This week, however, we had a very close race. And winning the race by a mere 14 votes is ...
MANU GINOBILI / JAMES HARDEN.
Ginobili and Harden are pratfalling so egregiously that it's difficult to believe they're actually accomplishing anything. And there's Tim Duncan with the T-Rex arms, just sort of tiptoeing in no direction in particular. Basketball is the silliest thing in the universe out of context. This GIF faced stiff competition from the likes of GO AWAY, JOE SMITH and DUDE'S SHORTS FALL DOWN, but I think we've made the right decision here.
There is one observation about this that I liked in particular. From Internet subscriber rustyspatula:
I’m torn between Victorino and Manu/Harden, whose reactions are like actors filming an action scene on green-screen, with a CGI explosion to be added later.
We also ended up having a long and drawn-out discussion about cargo shorts. So if you ever had any question about cargo shorts, ever, you know where to go.
