Josh Gordon garnered the attention of drat enthusiasts in the weeks leading up to the NFL Supplemental Draft. Some wondered whether he was a prospect worthy of such praise or just getting attention because nothing else was going on.
Well, the Cleveland Browns spent a second round draft pick on Gordon, and early reports out of training camp are that the former Baylor wideout might be worth the risk.
Gordon lined up against Joe Haden on occasion, drawing praise from the star cornerback, according to Yahoo! Sports.
''He's big and he's strong,'' Haden said. ''Now it's about him learning to run all his routes the same and to come out of breaks strong.''
Fellow rookies Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden joined Gordon in a new-look Browns offense. The pressure will be on the youngsters to turn around an offense that was one of the NFL's worst units a year ago.
It remains to be seen if Gordon will crack the lineup and live up to his skills and expectations, but early signs are all positive.
