Carlos Zambrano is now in the bullpen for the Miami Marlins.

Say there, did you you know how Carlos Zambrano was doing this year? No, no, he's still in the league. Turns out he's on the Miami Marlins, and for a while there, he was doing pretty well. Through his first eight starts, he had an ERA of 1.96. The Marlins won regularly when he took the mound in May. Things were looking up for Zambrano, just as they were looking up for the entire Marlins team for a while.

Now it's the end of July. And in Zambrano's last ten starts since the start of June, he's had two games with a pair of walks, a game with three walks, four games with four walks, a game with five walks, and two six-walk games. His ERA in that span: 6.61.

Yep. That'll do it.

LeBlanc has appeared in 11 games for the Marlins this year, all in relief. He has a 1.15 ERA and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 10/3 in 15 innings. He started the season in Triple-A, where pitched quite well.

The Carlos Zambrano experiment was bold. The Carlos Zambrano experiment is over. Long live the Carlos Zambrano experiment.
