The Dodgers have acquired reliever Brandon League from the Mariners. The Mariners also sent Steve Delabar to the Blue Jays in exchange for Eric Thames.

The Seattle Mariners were expected to be sellers at the trade deadline and indeed they made a pair of moves on Monday night in rapid succession. Following the Mariners' win over the Toronto Blue Jays, the team officially announced two trades.

The first trade sends reliever Brandon League to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for a pair of prospects: outfielder Leon Landry and pitcher Logan Bawcom. League had been tied to a number of teams over the past week. Although League had struggled this season and was demoted from the closer role with Seattle in favor of Tom Wilhelmsen, the Dodgers apparently felt they needed the right-hander in the bullpen. League has still be slightly above replacement-level out of the bullpen this season and has an ERA of 3.63.

The other trade will feature a short walk for both players involved. The Mariners sent another reliever, Steve Delabar, to the Blue Jays in exchange for outfielder Eric Thames. Delabar has a 4.17 ERA in 34 games this season. Thames, meanwhile, is currently sporting a line of .243/.288/.365. His OPS+ of 74 is well down from the mark of 104 he set in his rookie season last year, so the M's will be hoping that he can rebound.
