Women's Basketball Gold Medal Game: U.S. Leads By 12 At Halftime

Playing for their fifth straight gold medal, the United States women's basketball team has a 37-25 lead over France at halftime.

While the score is lower than some may have expected, the United States still holds a double-digit lead, despite not shooting the ball especially well. Team USA made just 15-of-38 shots in the first half. including just 1-of-5 from 3-point range.

Candace Parker, coming off the bench for the first time in the Olympics, leads team USA at halftime with 15 points and nine rebounds. She is the only American to make more than one shot from the field. The rest of the team combined to shoot 8-of-29 in the first half.

Sandrine Gruda leads France at halftime with eight points. France also struggled offensively in the first half, making just 9-of-32 shots from the floor.
