Russell Wilson Throws His First NFL TD, His Wife Is Really Excited

Stay connected with SB Nation

Russell Wilson, the little quarterback that could, threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards in the third quarter of Seattle's game with the Tennessee Titans.

His wife was just as excited for the occasion as she was during the draft.

All kidding aside, Wilson has played a sharp game for Seattle. Halfway through the third quarter, Wilson has connected on all four of his passes for 71 yards and the touchdown to Braylon Edwards that gave us the opportunity to reintroduce ourselves to one of the most inspiring characters from the 2012 NFL Draft.

Wilson is making his case for the starting quarterback job. Matt Flynn, who started the game against the Titans, was 11-for-13 with an interception. He played a pretty conservative game, totaling just 71 yards on those 11 passes. With all due respect to the other quarterback battle in the NFC West, Russell versus Flynn could be one of the more interesting stories to watch during the preseason.
