Chad Johnson had his bond set at $2,500 following a hearing Sunday morning after spending the night in jail on allegations of domestic violence. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver was also issued a no contact order instructing him to stay away from his new wife, Evelyn Lozada.
Johnson is expected to be released from jail shortly according to his lawyer, Adam B. Swickle. Swickle would not comment further on his client, however.
"I think you're aware I couldn't discuss anything that I've discussed with my client," Swickle said. "At this point in time we have no comment."
Johnson is expected to be at Dolphins practice at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, where he will have to give the team a face-to-face account of what happened between him and his wife Saturday night. Johnson and Lozada reportedly got in a fight over a receipt Lozada found for a box of condoms. The fight ended with Johnson headbutting Lozada, allegedly.
