Evelyn Lozada Releases Statement On Chad Johnson's 'False Accusations'

Evelyn Lozada, the newlywed wife of former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson, has released a statement in regards to the incident in which Johnson was arrested on a domestic violence charge. In the statement, via her publicist, she criticizes Johnson for not accepting the consequences of his actions.

It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.

Since the arrest, Johnson has lost his job with the Miami Dolphins and their VH1 reality TV show "Ev And Ocho," has been pulled from the fall lineup. 11 episodes involving the couple's engagement and wedding were shot. The show was slated to premier on the network on September 3.
