Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, divorced last year, and things have been kind of awkward since. Now, as they try to adjust to life without each other (if they stay apart, of course), each is starting to look around for what they want in their next mate.
Everyone has certain qualities they value: physical appearance, sense of humor, politeness, confidence, etc. Vanessa Bryant? Hers are pretty unique.
Via a New York Magazine print feature transcribed by Sports on Earth:
"I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year."
OK, let's play a little matchmaking. The favorites to win next year's NBA title include the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen are all taken. It'd be kind of awkward for Vanessa to date anyone else on the Lakers, so they're out. The Thunder stars are all options, but there's the age gap thing to remember.
So... at the end of the day, looks like there's no better option than Kobe himself. That is, unless Robert Horry wants to come out of retirement.
