VIDEO: Chad Johnson Released On 'Hard Knocks'

Chad Johnson has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this past week. Following the fallout of his arrest for domestic violence after striking his wife with his forehead, Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins. He had previously been signed to a contract and working to earn a starting spot with the rebuilding franchise.

With HBO's Hard Knocks at Dolphins camp this month, they were able to get some raw footage of Johnson meeting with head coach Joe Philbin as he learned of his release.

You can see that even despite Johnson's plea to get one more chance, coach Philbin was already determined to make the change. Given the circumstances surrounding the veteran receiver, you can't really blame him for not wanting the excess baggage near the team as the season nears.

"I just want to thank you for the opportunity. I know there's nothing I can say at this point, but I appreciate it," Johnson said. He was clearly upset and frustrated with the situation, even though he probably knew it had to be coming.
