The Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons will take the field for their second games of the NFL preseason, this time on Fox, as they continue to work out the kinks.
The Cincinnati Bengals opened the preseason with a 17-6 victory over the New York Jets last Friday night, but alas, it was only an exhibition game. The Bengals will get another chance to show that they're the real deal on Thursday night, though, as they travel south to face the Atlanta Falcons in a game scheduled to be played on Fox.
The Bengals were able to win last week due to the play of unlikely hero Cedric Peerman as the running back with three career NFL carries heading into this season scored a pair of touchdowns -- one after recovering a blocked punt in the end zone -- to give Cincinnati its first win of the preseason.
Atlanta obviously won't be able to gameplan against something like that happening again ... and they're likely more worried about working out their own kinks rather than attempting to stop Cincinnati anyway. The Falcons dropped a 31-17 decision to the Baltimore Ravens in last week's preseason opener despite leading 17-7 at halftime behind touchdowns from Julio Jones and Jacquizz Rodgers.
For those among us interested in betting on preseason football games, by the way, Atlanta opened the week as 3.5-point favorites with the over-under being set at 37.
