Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki plans on playing two more years in the NBA.
Dallas Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki plans to play two more seasons, and then will "see how he feels," before deciding on his future.
Nowitzki broke the news himself, answering questions from fans on Twitter on Sunday.
Nowitzki, who turned 34 in June, has seen his production drop each of the last four seasons, despite leading Dallas to an NBA title in 2011. In the 2008-09 season, Nowitzki averaged 25.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Those figures dropped in each subsequent season, and Nowitzki finished the 2011-12 season averaging 21.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, respectively.
Nowitzki is about to enter the third year of a four-year deal signed in 2010 that is paying him $80 million over the life of the contract.
The 7' tall German also answered some lighthearted questions on Twitter, too. In case you were wondering, Dirk's favorite movie is Braveheart, and his favorite bands are The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
