Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has still not practiced in weeks, but Lovie Smith expects that to change in the coming week. Smith also told reporters on Tuesday that he fully expects Urlacher to be on the field when the Bears take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 at Solider Field Sept. 9.
The Bears will not practice again until Monday Sept. 3, but Smith did not indicate if that was the scheduled date for Urlacher's return. The Bears will have a walk-through on Wednesday before Thursday's final preseason game vs. the Cleveland Browns, in which Urlacher will not play.
Urlacher has insisted throughout the preseason that he will be ready for the regular season despite his inactivity in training camp.
