After Wednesday's botch job, which featured Juventus tempting Dimitar Berbatov away from Fiorentina only to see him snatched away by Fulham, Juventus are reluctant to claim that a deal has been done with Nicklas Bendtner. But the striker is in Turin for talks with the club, and is set to undergo a medical on Friday.
Beppe Marotta and company must be crossing their fingers and toes that this time, the deal goes through. The Old Lady have been seeking a star-quality striker since the beginning of summer, only to see Robin Van Persie head off to Manchester United, while fans have had to accept that Napoli will not be selling Edinson Cavani this go-round. As for Bendtner, the Dane may have his flaws, but so do the likes of Alessandro Matri, Mirko Vučinić and Sebastian Giovinco.
With Juventus part of a Champions League group that includes Chelsea as well as FC Nordsjaellandin and Shakhtar Donetsk, they're eager to get their hands on one last reinforcement. It looks like maybe, just maybe, this one will go through.
